Snow day

This past weekend was wonderful in that it snowed. And for once I didn't have to battle through the snow and slippery roads to get to work! I got to actually enjoy the snow, instead of moaning about having to drive home in it. I'm not the only one who loves the snow. Miss Finley looooves the snow, despite having super short hair and zero body fat (lucky girl). She tends to get cold easily and will shiver and shake but will keep playing as long as you let her. So to prevent her getting hypothermic, I bought her a non-stupid looking coat last year. It's a functional coat for a dog. It doesn't have leopard print, or a hood, or rhinestones. It keeps her warm and looks somewhat respectable. Somewhat. Said coat produces jumping and excitedness abounds when it is brought out. Now we don't have a yard of our own at the moment but there is a large lawn area at our apartment that was out of the way of cars and other people and pets with plenty of room for her to romp and stomp. And romp she did.

The on-call model

By the time I had unpacked every box when my new camera arrived recently, it was pitch black out and the lighting ain't so hot in our apartment. So come morning, there was light but I didn't really want to shoot tables, vases and silverware. Instead, I shot some images of my on-call model. She usually cooperates for the camera, doesn't get too high maintenance, and is easily persuaded with treats.

Portrait session: Ray and Fay

Taking photos of a couple is so easy when they're as in love as Ray and Fay. Everything was natural, easy-breezy, and so genuine. I took them to just shy of downtown Denver near the Museum of Contemporary Art and found so many awesome little gems for locations! You guys were such fun to work with and truly refreshing to be around!

Portrait session: Shaun and Marci

I kicked off my "grand re-opening" by doing a portrait session with my 2 good friends, Shaun and Marci. Most guys are not huge fans of having their picture taken for over an hour but it was a piece of cake with Shaun! These 2 are so happy and in love with each other that it was pretty easy for me. We'd originally planned to start at a hidden little park I found and then head up to Chautauqua Park in Boulder but the weather wouldn't cooperate and were soon left with almost zero light. So we made do at this park and got some great shots in the process.

Thanks guys! I had a great time with you!
